This is a clip from a live action pilot titled Knights of Justice.
The pilot features characters from Big Bang Comics: Knight Watchman, Thunder Girl, Masker, Ultiman and the villainous Cortex. (Ultiman does not appear in this clip.)
Big Bang Comics was created by Gary Carlson and Chris Ecker; the character Masker was created by Philip R. Cable. Big Bang Comics titles have been published by Caliber Press and Image Comics.
The general concept behind the Big Bang Universe is that their characters are retro, alternate universe versions of well-known, iconic heroes and villains that have appeared throughout the history of comics. The stories and art styles are homages and pastiches to the top comic book writers and artists from every decade. They also have a fictionalized history of their publications, and the creators who supposedly worked on them. One doesn't have to get the many loving tributes and references to enjoy the stories, but the more one knows about comics, the more one will appreciate Big Bang Comics .
In keeping with the spirit of Big Bang Comics, the live action pilot was meant to be a be collision of past and present, containing elements of everything from Republic serials, the George Reeves Superman TV show, Adam West's Batman, '70s kid's shows like Shazam!, to the Power Rangers.
I played one of the Robot Henchmen (that's me standing in the back of the pickup truck). Fortunately, my "big scenes" bookend one of the more exciting sequences from Knights of Justice.
